WE ARE SWITCHING TO BROWN BOTTLES

At BOUCHE, packaging is never just an afterthought. It's a vital part of how our drinks are produced, protected, and ultimately enjoyed. That's why, starting in early 2026, we're making a small but important change to our 0.75-liter PET-NAT and PROXY products: we're switching from clear bottles to amber glass bottles.

At first glance, the difference may appear purely visual. In reality, it is a decision based on quality, stability, and respect for the contents of the bottle.

UNIFICATION OF THE PRODUCT RANGE

Our 0.33-liter bottles have always been filled with amber glass. With this change, the 0.75-liter formats will now also follow this approach, thus unifying the entire BOUCHE range both visually and technically.

It's about consistency, but also about intention: a unified expression of how our drinks are made and how they should be enjoyed.

WHY BROWN GLASS IS IMPORTANT

Fermented beverages like kombucha are inherently delicate. Exposure to light – especially UV and blue light – can impair the delicate tea aromas, plant compounds, and overall flavor profile.

Brown glass filters this light naturally and contributes to:

  • Aromas and freshness are preserved

  • greater flavor stability is ensured over a longer period of time.

  • This results in a more consistent drinking experience from bottling to final pouring.

Even if the change on the shelf is subtle, it has a significant impact on the contents of the bottle.

PACKAGING AS PART OF THE PROCESS

“Packaging has always been an important part of our brand, but this change goes beyond appearance – it is part of the production process,”
says Walker Brengel, founder and CEO of BOUCHE.
"By switching our 0.75-liter bottles to brown glass, we are applying the same standards that have long been used for wine and other fermented beverages."

This is a philosophy we firmly believe in: to treat kombucha with the same care, attention and technical consideration as other serious fermented beverages.

WHAT REMAINS UNCHANGED

The liquid itself remains unchanged:

  • the same recipes

  • the same balance

  • the same approach to fermentation and production

The new bottles simply help ensure that every drink arrives exactly as it should – protected, stable and expressive.

WHEN YOU WILL SEE THE CHANGE

Brown 0.75-liter glass bottles will be available from our retail and hospitality partners from February 2026 and will gradually replace the clear bottles as existing stocks are depleted.

As always, thank you for your interest in the details.
They are important to us – and they are important for the contents of your glass.
